hello i need your advice to make a jump from my old 9400 gt and my pentium d cpu 3.06 ghz to a newer gpu and cpu iam on a tight budget of 300 bucks for both of them and please dont tell me to change my mobo (g31m-es2c) and my moniter is 19" max res 1440x900 thanks in advance.

oh man i live in iraq and there is no such an internet ordering service in our country so all waht iam asking for is options for cpu and gpu so that i could buy 'em from here thanks for your quick replay

Well....if you could send us some Electronic store links in your region that would be most helpful. We do not know what kind of computer stores that are around you either so please bare in mind on that...

ok this site www.al-nabaa.com belongs to one of the biggest electronic stors in baghdad where i live and they have every thing i mean every thing amd & nvidia cpu's & gpu's so please help me to choose the best cpu and gpu for my mobo g31m-es2c my max budjit is as i said 300 bucks

Recommending a GPU without first knowing what kind of PSU he has is pointless, IMO. If it is a weak PSU, especially one that is as old as the Pentium D he is running, then he'll have to buy a new PSU too. Hopefully not though.

 

So aliromy70, lets do this. Can you list what PSU you have?

my psu is hunt key 500w i was thinking of a q8400 and 5770 hd any seggestions

Well, I can't comment on the 5770 HD, but the E8400 is a fantastic processor. I run that right now in my main rig.
