two questions fist does win xp home support dual processors and secound i am currently running win 98 do i need to buy the full edition of xp home or just the upgrade . thanks

No, sir ... you'll need the Pro edition to support SMP (dual-processors).

If you already own a license for Win98,and intend to purchase the Home edition, then the upgrade should be sufficient. You can even use it as a clean, fresh installation if you already own a user license for Win98, and have the CD at hand.
