Upgrading graphics card

I guess I finally burned out my 8800 GTS 512 gpu, getting a code 10 and uninstalling/reinstalling and updating drivers didn't help. Would that graphics card be considered old and outdated already? I'm looking to get an upgrade tomorrow and had my eye on the GTX 560 or 550 ti and need advice. I'm not going for the all out best extreme gaming but more of "can handle any recent game easily". To be specific SW:TOR, I wouldn't mind running this on max or near max settings.

Will the new gpu be bottlenecked by my system? Is there any other components I should upgrade? Should I upgrade to Windows 7 64-bit?

Currently running:

Asus P5N-D Mobo
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz
650 Watt power supply
Windows XP 32-bit
2GB Ram (thinking of getting 4GB to max out)
Realtek HD audio

ive been playing the SW TOR beta on my radeon 5770 and i get good frame rates at max settings. both of those cards would be a significant upgrade for me. so your fine with either.

oh i forgot. i play across 3 monitors at 5760x1080. so yeah you will be good with either on a single screen.

Thanks for the confirmation on my choice in upgrade. So my other components will not lower my performance or cause problems? Is upgrading to Windows 7 to get up to eventually 8 GB Ram a worthwhile investment or am I ok with XP?
