I was just wondering if this was a good build or not

PSU-1000W Silent Pro Gold Coolmaster
Heatsink- Hyper 212 Coolmaster
Processor-I7-920 2.66Ghz
Motherboard-ASUSTek P6TD DELUXE X58
RAM-24GB Corsair Vengence(4GBx6)
Gpu-Gtx 580 SC 1536MB DDR3 PCI 2.0
GT 220 1024MB DDR2 PCI 2.0
HDD's- ST35000418AS 500GB WDC WD5000AAKS-60Z1A0 500GB
WDC5000AACS-00ZUB0 500GB
SSD- Crucial 128GB

or should i upgrade?

Solution
If that is the system you currently have, I see no reason to upgrade at this time. i7 920 is still a viable CPU and GTX580 plays everything you throw at it.

That's a very good system, if you're looking for improved performance overclock the 920, I had mine for 2 years before OCing it and have it running at 4 GHz for about 7 months, the performance jump was fantastic :)

Ah, that's also the same cooler I have :), if you're wondering I run my system at 191 Blk with turbo enabled (191 x 21 = 4011) @ 1.28 v. It's really not hard to do, just make sure you stress test and have the system well ventilated! There's loads of guides online.

Ah ok, well that's a shame, I'd recommend reading up on it in the future, there's a LOT of checks in place to prevent your system from dying these days. The chip will just revert back to it's factory settings if it's in trouble.

But in any case that's a really solid system, I wouldn't be too worried. Most people get a 2500k to OC it, that's why it's so popular, the stock performance isn't toooo much higher than what you have.

You're talking about mounting a fan on the chip? No idea what you mean here, I don't know of any difference in the D0 chips, only that they OC easier with less voltage requirements.

Ah cool, I'd love a few extra monitors, no space :(. Well for future reference you can save a lot of money on RAM if you're only using your system for gaming, you'll see much much large increases in fps if you put that money into GPU and CPU! Good luck with future builds :)
