Hey guys, I'm building a new rig soon and I wanted to get a sound card as well for games and music. I was looking at the Asus Xonar DX.

What I was wondering is if I should get the PCIe or PCI version? I am getting the ASUS P8Z77-V PRO mobo and I will have a GPU in there.

So based on the layout of that board which version of the sound card would I be better off with? (Check mobo pics in the link) Can I put the PCIe card into PCIe 2.0 slot at the bottom? Cuz it looks like it won't fit in the PCIe slots if the GPU is in there.

Thanks

P.S. I would like to find a card with a headphone amp and front panel auto detect but they all seem to be the more expensive cards.

Solution
Get the PCI-e version. The last slot looks like the best choice really.

They are relatively, the best one is the Xonar Essence STX, but it is pricey at $168USD.
