HDMI looks like crap DVI to VGA looks fine???? Need help!!!!

For some reason my HDMI has never really worked right...looks like crap and screen is offset. My aspect ration is fine and my res that i run is 1080 x 1920. I have had to use the dvi to vga adapter and it looks fine just wondering what HDMI would look like if not better than what my set up looks like now. Please please please know what your talking about last post i made of this went no where....
