Hi i have the Gigabyte GA-G31M-ES2C rev.1 motherboard also know as the G31 series which supports DDR2 Ram/Memort and PCI-E GPU interface im currently using an ATI 512mb card which is DDR2 and i'd like to upgrade to DDR3 or DDR5 or GDDR5 if possible can anyone tell me if my board allows these cards which arent DDR2

Solution
VRAM is completely independent of system RAM. You could very well use GDDR5 with a DDR1 system (from the Pentium 4 days). Likewise, you can use a DDR2 video card on a DDR3 motherboard without problems.
