Plz help. I just bought mw3. I know my computer can max the gfx settings in the game. Im running the following system

cpu: i5 650 @ 3.2ghz
gfx: msi ngtx550ti
Ram: 4gb ddr3 1600mhz
Hdd: 500gb seagate
RaM drive: dvd rw

I get stuttering while playing the multi. Single works fine. I get stuttering when "smoke" appears. my fps drop from 60 to like 25fps. Its not a heating issue bcz my gfx barely touches 65 degrees celsius and my cpu barely touch 55 degrees celsius. Is it a memory leak or a bug or something? Plz any help would be appriciated

Solution

I average over 300 fps in single player and am pegged at 91 fps in multi because IW locked the max to 91.

The 550ti is a low card on the totem pole... smoke is hard on any card so fps dropping isn't surprising.

i have a gtx560ti overclocked to 950mhz and i find the game still stutters slightly with 1280x1024 resolution with aax4,
if it only happens in multi player it could be a ram issue,
ive only got 4gb as well and wonder if its really enough

What resolution are you play at with the 550Ti? If it's 2560x1600, dont even bother playing lol jk... Adding more RAM well help your problem, I lag like hell when multi task awhile playing MW3... I Opened my browser(On Google.COM with FF) I lagged until i closed the browser.. BTW I got 4GB of RAMS which is worthless when playing these new games...

It wouldn't hurt. 8GB is the sweet spot at the moment and cheap relying on of course a 64bit OS...

Corsair is by far one of the best but I dont think it's good enough for gaming lol...
Here's one I would highly suggest you get but depends on your budget...
G.SKILL Sniper Series 8GB
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231459

It has tight timing for it speed of 7-8-7-24 at 1600MHz

OR you can buy this one

It is the same model with higher timing and lower voltage, all you do is make timing lower and higher voltage...

EDIT: You might not be able to get 7-8-7-24 timing tho lol...
