Hello,

I have a dying Hp dv9917cl. It's processor has been reflows and helped for awhile but these laptops have been known for their issues due to heat buildup. Anyhow I now have a new Lenovo z575 and would love to use the little ir media center remote and receiver from my Hp and use it on my z575 or even a DIY desktop. Is this possible? If so how??

Also worth mentioning the Hp ran vista. Lenovo and desktop run win7.

Hello Adamjamess;

Have you found a Windows 7 driver and remote control software for your remote?

Hi there,

No I have not. I've looked but hp's website is horrific for navigating drivers. The remote control is a RC1762307/01
And has Hp SPS of 464793-001. I also have another HP laptop (dv6-6b26us) that in the device manager has an entry for Consumer IR and says its working. Could this mean it already has an IR receiver built in??
