does anyone know if i can download a free boot disk for the acer 5332 laptop

You can also contact Acer for replacement media. Be prepared to pay a small fee for the request and be prepared to provide proof of ownership. Otherwise, there is no free, distributable version of Windows 7 (even the OEM version that comes bundled with Acers).

it may have a hidden recovery partition so you can recover without a disc

usually accessed by pressing alt+f10 at start up on acers

We have bought several of these "small fee" restore discs for customers..... from various manufacturers...they generally cost £50 or more .....
