Okay. so I upgraded my pc. I had a older mobo. (cant remember the type). Around 450w power supply, 2x nvidia 9500 gt cards in sli. ect ect.

my psu went out. also, my southbridge fan, so i bought the following.

Rendition by Crucial 2GB 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1333 (PC3 10600) Desktop Memory Model RM25664BA1339 (two of these)

BIOSTAR N68S3+ AM3 NVIDIA MCP68S Micro ATX AMD Motherboard

AMD Phenom II X2 560 Black Edition Callisto 3.3GHz Socket AM3 80W Dual-Core Desktop Processor HDZ560WFGMBOX

hec HP585D 585W ATX12V Power Supply - No Power Cord - OEM

XFX HD-687A-ZHFC Radeon HD 6870 1GB 256-bit GDDR5 PCI Express 2.1 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFireX Support Video Card.

I upgraded my graphics card to something way stronger. I upgraded my cpu from an amd athlon 64x2 to the one mentioned above.
I used to run counterstrike source at 100+ fps. now im lucky to get 50 steady. games are all starting out at 1 fps. really slow. league of legends, im always the last person to load. 30 fps if i'm lucky. (this used to run at 60+). CoD black ops, 1-6 frames per second, unplayable. but i used to get a steady 30-40 on this with my other set up.

this doesnt get close to running anything near max settings, and im soo dissapointed.

the psu didnt have enough 6 pin pci connectors for the card, so i bought a 2x 4pin molex> 6pin pci-e adapter.
some of the other things ive noticed. the system itself only shows 3.0 gb of ram.
everything loads quite slow. ingame menus are considerably slower at coming up than they have been.

Im running windows xp 32.

The reason why only 3GB of ram is showing on your system is because Windows XP 32bit has a ram limit of 3GB, to be able to use your other 1GB of RAM you will need a 64bit operating system. Your games could be loading slow (League of Legends) because of a slow hard drive. Your new CPU is not really much of an upgrade over your old one, in hindsight you should of really got a quad core for an extra $35 http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16819103727

As somebody else has already said the powersupply you chose is not the best and its unlikely it would be able to produce 585w.

That's probably the dumbest thing ive heard all morning. I came here looking for help, and not meaning to "pwn" or step on anyone's toes, but this needs to be said so you don't upset anyone else. yes. i mad.

my past setup had a ram limit of 4 gigs, as did everyone else's, since you're wrong. 4 gigs is the limit.
3.5 gigs were showing because i had!.. 3.5 gigs. took me two seconds to google your lack of information.

my slow hard drive is the same hard drive i had when everything was loading fine, including league of legends. my cpu is an UPGRADE from my previous setup with an athlon 64 x2. which performed just fine.
I'm not asking for much. Let me re-word this for you that maybe don't get it.

I went from 2x geforce 9500 GT's in SLI. to a radeon 6870 HD.
I went from an athlon 64 x2 (5800+ i think) to a AMD Phenom II X2 560
I went from a 450 watt psu, to a 585 watt psu.

and since when do they call something that isnt likely to produce 585 watts a 585 watt psu? WTF?
If it couldnt produce 585 watts, what would they call it?

but yeah, thanks for the quad core recommendation. anyone wanna actually try to answer my question?

(edit. -.- cpu=psu)
