If you look at previous SBMs, esp if you plan on OCing, the i3 can't keep up with the Phenoms x4s in the budget ranges. I know you'll say "but this leaves room to upgrade to an i5..." - true, it does. For an extra $200. And it won't take IB (Z68 can, not H61).

The i3 is a good chip it keeps up with the Phenom x4s at stock speeds, I'm assuming this is the OP first build so I bet he won't OC.

Hey, i thought this was gaming, he said nothing about OCing. Right now the i3 2100 rocks most Phenom x4s gaming wise(besides 980 and 975). But because of budget problems, he cant really go with Z68 boards.

That is not worth it plus you lose the whole first time computer building experience. I wouldn't use a 430w PSU for a 6870 or the GTX 460 and an i5-2400S even tho the i5 is a low power CPU you would want at least a 600W PSU. Plus HP = Garbage quality in my opinion.

The corsair 430 has a 28amp 12volt rail, that is enough for a 65watt 2400s and hd-6970 or 460.

I suppose the antec 620 is not much more money and it can run sli or crossfire just fine.

Ok i made a new build, all separate parts.. There is no way to make a intel build in this price range so its a amd build.

A whopping $85 in mail in rebates, if they come in or most of them come in, it puts the system in the $580 range with windows 7.

Ecs is not my favorite, but they are giving you the board for $19.99, at that price i would try ecs.

The 1600 mem should work ok underclocked at 1333.

A couple posts up a guy made an Intel build with an i3 2100, which is actually a very good PC with better upgrade paths then AMD even for being a dual core. Also I don't agree with you on running the i5 and those GPU choices on a 430w PSU. It would be under a lot of stress.

Just get the antec 620 instead, its only a extra $20 anyway.
