2600k lanes and 3770 pci-e 3.0 lanes

so i have a evga z68 sli board, and i heard the 2600k has 16 lanes for pci-e, so i have gtx 580s in sli at 8x pci-2 2.0, i also have a sound card in the 1x pci-e slot, so if the cpu only has 16 lanes of pci-e, how do the 2x 580s and sound card work (17 lanes in all).

The 2600k can only perform to PCI 2.0 speeds. The 16 lanes are split between each IRQ port, some are shared which is why you can have compatibility problems in fully loaded systems.
