Could my laptop battery stop internet connection

Hi my laptop lost internet connection after my child connected a web came to it. Could it be the battery needs to be replaced. I really cant afford to get a new laptop. I need some advice. Thanks alot!

I'm sure they aren't related. Most laptops have a switch of some kind to disable wireless communications.

What OS and laptop model do you have? Are there any messages coming from the operating system?
