Hi, I am changing motherboard, is it necessary to reinstall Windows 2000 Prof.? (or: after the change, will w2k run OK?)
(both motherboards have the same chipset - changing MSI K7 Master for Abit KG7 Raid, and the system disk is in NTFS)

Thanks a lot!

It's always recommended to reinstall the os after a mb change. But it might work.

I think both boards use Via IDE controllers so you should have no problem switching.

Always backup before any major changes. Try it and if it does not perform right then you can always reinstall.

Thanks for your answers. I have already changed the motherboard and Windows are running OK (so far)(I have two instalations of win2k and both are OK), but all hardware was found as new ones and many settings were set to default.
