I have just recently finished building a pc and installed Windows 8 onto it, problem is I used the disk on a previous system so I cannot activate Windows on the new pc. So I wanted to ask if I were to purchase new Windows 8 software, would that solve the product key issue I have? I've also hear about problems with Windows 8 on pc's with no previous Windows software on it, so any help anyone can give me would be great right now. Thanks in advance.

Yes you do need a new OS and it will solve your problem. Erase the hard disk and reformat it before you do the install.

Hi :)

AND you cannot use the cheap upgrade, you now have to buy a full oem...

All the best Brett :)

All right, least there is a store close by that I know has oem's for sale, too bad they're already closed for the weekend, oh well I'll just check Monday I guess.
