More about 5970 good enough
  1. Yes, a 5970 will do everything your wicked heart desires

  2. your card will still do fine in most of today games. if you're thinking on upgrading wait until next get card comes out
  3. thnx for the info but i would like to get a bang for buck thing.i think 5970 is best bang for buck cause it has power,dx11,eyefinity etc.
    what's your suggestion?
  4. I would get a 6950/6970. Should perform the same if not better due to no CF issues.
  5. Yes,HD 5970 will do fine in all of today's games but why not get a HD 6950 or HD 6970 instead they will do fine at your 1080p resolution..
  6. Newegg has the 5970 on sale for 300 bucks right now, I would personally say jump on it, even though its last gen, on it own it is way more powerful than a 6950 or 6970 (at least theoretically) and doesn't cost a whole tlot more. Since it is a dual gpu card though, I'm not sure if it will have any crossfire issues and I her 5000 series cards are kind of notorious for that.
  7. The 5970 can't be faster then the 6970. The 6970 is a 5970, but without the CF. Unless the clock speeds are slower which I doubt.

Did you look at Crewton's link in the first reply? The 5970 eats the 6970's lunch and then some, getting 50% more fps. now thats only one game, but i imagine other results would be similar.
  9. I had my cards wrong.

6970 isn't a 5970 minus the CF. It's a 1000+ shaders short for that. Wonder what card I was thinking of. Maybe the 5870 being two 4870s?
