my new hp pavillion laptop will not connect to my home network. other devices, including another laptop, will connect. my laptop will connect at friends home. she has a password set up on her network, i don't. could that be a problem?

If you don't have your router password secured, you should look into that. As for connecting to your network, do you use an HP application to connect, or is it windows wireless network configuration?
