So last weekend I had a friend of mine come over, Deadjon (on the forums) we were discussing builds an future plans etc etc, he was explaining to me about how the DoF on DX11 5760x1080 with Metro 2033 basically breaks everything FPS wise.

I managed to find this thread showing this.

HOWEVER When I ran the game over the weekend I seemed to be getting between 15-30 FPS, which tbf is playable.
I ran this on absolute max settings with DX11 and DoF enabled on 5760x1080, Now this to me was very confusing considering my build:

Asus amd 6950 directCUii (unlocked to 6970) 2gb, i7 920@3.6ghz (was at 4 but I spilt a glass of lemonade on it and now its no longer stable), 6ghz DDR3 OCZ gold 1600mhz and a bog standard caviar green HDD.

Now one thing I would like to know is why on earth can I run this game with these settings when all evidence say I shouldnt be able to?

Most people don't want to accept 15 - 30 FPS.

In fact, most people don't want to accept under 60 FPS.

The 6950 and the i7-920 aren't bad parts. I would expect them to do about the same in FPS that you are getting, especially with the lemonade thing.
