Choosing a video card for Inspiron 530?

I'm really noob at this stuff, but I was wondering can I still play modern games by upgrading my video card with this ancient motherboard? Can someone help me choose a video card that can run modern games such as Skyrim, BF3?

I have a Dell Inspiron 530, go On the left go to Appendix to see my system specs.

what is your preferred gaming resolution and budget? skyrim was not very taxing with gpu requirement but you need at least good mid-range gpu if you want to play BF3 with high/ultra setting with acceptable performance at 1080p.

I can spend about $150 just to buy a video. The highest resolution for my computer is 1440x900 pixel; is that what you're asking?

at that resolution you should be fine with 5770/6770. but double check your psu. you might need to get something better for 5770/6770.

it should be able to but don't expect the card able give good performance on high setting even with your resolution. if you want to keep your psu as it is i think it is better for you to look for 5670. get the one with PCI-E 2.0 standards and not the one with PCI-E 2.1 standard
