How do I go about fixing a Kernstub error?
I am using the same IDE cable for both the CD (slave) and the HD. This enabled me to use the CD. With a formatted HD
I used Partion Magic boot and tried to create one partition.
Really didn't know what I was doing. Then used fdisk but it only got 98% finished and quit. Used Partion again to correct - completed format ok. I don't think there is anything wrong with the HD. But when I try to reinstall Win98 it starts but quits with Kernstub:Error during boot.
I checked all pages of this site for some mention of this
problem. It seems I am the only person in the whole world that has the problem. Any help here woould be most appreciated. Thanks

I haven't used Partition Magic in a few years so I can't help you there. Did you use Fdisk C:/s to make the drive bootable?

Yes I did use A:Sys C I formatted the HD so I am only using the boot disks for Partition Magic. That use was not sucessful. Maybe I did not use fdisks correctly and I am going to give it another try. Thanks
