Will new card be bottlenecked by older rig?

Forum Systems : Homebuilt Will new card be bottlenecked by older rig?

I recently purchased a GeForce GTX 550 Ti (Fermi) for my rig I built back in May 2008. The reason I am getting it is because I am getting 10 FPS in SWTOR in Warzones and I figured a GPU upgrade would help. Now, my question is will the card be significantly bottomnecked with my current rig? If so, would you recommend a new rig all together or what components would you recommend I should upgrade. Also, is there a significantly performance loss with a PCI E 2.0 card on a 1.0 MOBO? Thanks!

OS: Windows 7 Ultimate
MOBO: GA-P35-DS3L
CPU: E2180 OC @ 3.0 GHz
CPU Fan: COOLER MASTER RR-CCH-L9U1-GP
Memory: 4X1GB Wintec Ampo DDR2 800 PC6400
HDD: Seagate Barracuda 7200.10 250MB
DVD: PHILIPS DVD Burner
PSU: EarthWatts 380W ATX12V v2.0 80Plus Certified
GPU: EVGA 9800 GTX+ 512MB (Current Card)

Hi.

If your going to use that GTX 550TI on that system It would be a waste money you have spent. I would buy all new gear and build it yourself.

The Min CPU you want would be a i5 Or Above not Dual Core like you have now.

Min PSU 500W But 750-800W for future upgrades. The list goes on.

Thanks for the feedback. I was afraid that would be the case considering I build this rig 4 years ago. The good thing is I haven't used the card yet, so I am going to RMA back to newegg. Going to save up for a new rig since that looks to be my only option.

To answer your question, an aftermarket cpu cooler is not necessary with a 2100. For $5...
