I want to build my self a gaming desktop on a budget. I've been tired of gaming on a dell studio 1555 for a long time now.

Here's my build:
AMD Phenom II X4 965 Black Edition
GIGABYTE GA-880GM-usb3 rev3.1
Cm Storm Enforcer
Corsair vengance memory GB
RAIDMAX HYBRID 2 RX-630w
an a cheap Sony disk drive

I was planing on getting 4 more GB of ram after i get money along with a Xfx radeon hd 6850 as soon as i can afford it.
I just what to get the system up and running asap.

Solution
The build looks ok and you won't be able to play any high quality games with intergrated graphics so as soon as you can you need to get the video card to put in and the extra 4gb of ram can wait since you need to make the video card your first priority.

>Gaming PC with intergrated graphics
oh u funny.
Jokes aside, the gaming performance is extremely reliant on the quality of your GPU (Graphics Card)

Also, if you will just be gaming; you do not need more than 4gb ram.

Very few cases you will see that it will actually increase your performance.
If you will be hosting things such as Minecraft servers, or running programs such as Vegas or Photoshop in the background, it might help.

Also, what will you be doing for your storage?

I suggest going with a 64gb Crucial for an SSD.
Or be a cheap fellow and pick up a 320gb HDD which goes for 50-60 dollars on newegg right now.

I suggest throwing in a 5770 if you are tight on cash for now, and buy the 6850 once the 5770 doesn't handle the "modern games" in a few years, buy the 6870 for a low price, as the best time to buy parts is well after you DO actually buy them. :heink:

These are some choices for video cards and a hdd that you can look at.

Laptop Hard Drive?
LOL
no.
You may need to by certain aftermarket products to even connect it, it is not worth the trouble for the certain slow speeds it will bring.

Getting a small SSD for the OS drive is a good idea.

Unlike Kleme I noticed a big difference with games going from 4gig to 8gig. At the price of ram there is really no reason to not have 8gig. And just because not all games will use more does not mean anything. As games get more advanced gamers are going to need more. People have been throwing around "The you will not need more than" about HDD size ram size CPU speed and so on and yet as computers and software advanced so do does the need for more it is just the way it goes.

On top of that I feel it is better to buy when the prices are low instead of later as they may go up. Look at the HDD prices after the flooding if I had not already had my 5x 3tb WD HDD there is no way I could get them now.

Any laptop hard drive that I've seen has either the standard SATA or PATA connectors, depending on the age (although the ones with PATA had a different power connector and some weird extender that had to be taken off)

Anyways, anything would be better than the DeathStar I'm planning on throwing in to my new build for a month or two...

Also, @siksniper1996, I personally refer to the tiered power supply list over at EggXpert
http://www.eggxpert.com/forums/thread/323050.aspx

That one should be fine, but there are better choices out there for (probably) a higher price.

Laptop hard drives can be used in desktop computers.

Every time I tried that, it required a redicoulous cable that took more than cable management, not the sata. I would hate to put a new build on possibly a turtle hdd.
