It should work fine for gaming, Only thing I worry about is the case and mobo being microATX, you have no 'future' upgrade-ability. No second PCI-E, only 2 RAM slots, if you wanted more power down the line, or a crossfire setup, you have no ability to do it. Unfortunately, I know little about AMD boards as I'm an Intel guy, and have no better suggestions for you. If you don't mind possibly having to swap the case and mobo down the road if you upgrade, then this setup should be fine for now...

I'm not too concerned with upgrade-ability as of now, but later down the road if I did want to upgrade I'd get a new case and mobo and that's it, or would I need to change everything?
Also, thank you! Just to clarify, will I be able to play games like Fallout 3 or such?

The thing that you need to keep in mind is that there are no magic bulletts here and the less you pay the less you get , so if you want to go cheap you will be playing games at low resolutions and low settings. The build that you have listed will do that and as long as you are ok with that your fine. A good practice that you can do is to look at the minimum syatem requirements of the games that you want to play and then that will give you an idea of what you need in your computer.
Sometimes you can try to save as much as you can and wait just a little longer so that you can get a better gaming rig. The link I have posted gives you an idea of what video cards are compareable to others on the list and which are better.

This is sort of a 'just for now' computer, will be using it for schoolwork and gaming and that's about it
I plan on saving for a much better one sometime later in the future, but I need a cheap one for the time being.

I'm gonna be honest, I don't know anything about video cards... Would you mind explaining why that one is better?

The 6450 uses older GDDR3, the newer ATI cards, like a 5670 or even a 5770 runs GDDR5, not to mention core clocks, shaders and all that other gunk I don't understand... Check the hierarchy link above, the 6450 is equivalent to an OLD GT220 and quite far down on the list. You definately will see a difference just with the faster GDDR5...

It is my opinion not to build cheep. If you want to spend less buy a decent pc that someone is needing to sell.
when you are building new it is like was said earlier, you get what you pay for,or (usually a little less than you pay for).

You should check out the computer I have on ebay for sale. It will definately play fallout and even more intensive stuff. It will even play skyrim and bf3 with a better gpu. It already has 8g ram.
here is the link.

If you dont want it you should look under custom gaming computer category and see what else you can find. Save the building until you can afford to build a good one.
I also have this for sale

probably more than you are looking to spend but thought I would show you.

Good luck!
