I'm not sure how many out there have the same problem -- but I didn't
encounter this when I used to use my Elan 7 -- and it's due to the eye
piece.
With my EOS 10D -- I find my nose hitting the LCD screen all the time.
Anybody else encounter this same "ergonomics" problem?
I have heard that the Canon Eyepiece Extender (EP-EX15) is supposed to
fix this -- but reduces magnification by 30% and makes the viewfinder
even worse to use. Plus I don't need dioptric adjustment lenses.
Any alternatives to this funny problem -- it's affecting how quickly I
can compose shots. Basically I'd like to have at least the same sort
of "nose room" as I had on the Elan 7.

Why are you using the LCD screen ? You should always compose &
capture images using the optical viewfinder. As you squeeze the release you
hold the camera steady until the image shows on the LCD. I see too many
people holding a digital camera away from the face and using the LCD ....
instead of the optical viewfinder. They then ask why their images are not as
sharp as they expected. Craig Flory

I'm left-eyed when it comes to cameras. Never had a problem with the
10D. To keep nose gunk off the LCD I have one of those plastic
protectors from Hoodman.

Ooops ... my bad. I'm used to amateur questions. I agree about buying the
hoodman attachment. They make them for a lot of cameras. I saw it at one of
our state photog. assn. meetings. I'd also suggest looking for a rubber
extension for the viewfinder.

I guess mine does (I'm left-eyed too), but I can't say it's something that
annoys me particularly.

It's called - try before you buy

Well, I don't have THAT big a nose, that it causes a problem in seeing
through the eyepiece on my 300D, but it does smudge up the LCD something
terrible. Fortuantely Canon has positioned things such that that's all
my nose hits, and not the control buttons - that could cause problems!
