My psu uses plastic ties in order to organize the cords, however, there are only two... So, I went to the grocery store and stole twenty or so of the paper/metal ties (http://2.cdn.clearbags.us/media/catalog/product/cache/1/image/9df78eab33525d08d6e5fb8d27136e95/p/a/paper_twist_tie_white.jpg). Can I use these or would the paper set fire or metal conduct something and break something?

you can use them temprorarily so you can get the appropriate ties. the wire inside the bag tie can cut into the shielding and cause problems or fires. acidental moving of the cord, etc... you want to be sure that you did not burn your house down, because you couldnt fine the right tie to buch your cords.. $3.00 at lowes or home depot or walmart.
