I see a lot of DVD's with CD-ROMS at like 40x read, is it okay to have this speed CD-ROM and still be able to play the latest games?

I don't want to have to buy 3 drives,
DVD
CD-RW
CD..

That would seem kinda dumb, so what's the minimum speed needed anyway?

It will usually depend on the game, but 40x is more than enough :)

Well, you could buy a Ricoh or Toshiba drive with support for
DVD and Cd-RW recorder!
a 3-in-1 drive!

Better burn in Hell with some company than freeze in Heaven all alone
