My processor needs a upgrade, is that possible with my motherboard?

I feel like my video card and ram are currently holding their own for my PC gaming needs to date. However I feel like my processor is dragging behind in age more so.

With my current setup is my CPU capable of being upgraded? If so, what would be my best bet (price wise/performance wise)? I don't want to spend a huge amount. I just want to see a difference in my gaming experience.

I had a HP once with the same motherboard and yes you can upgrade the CPU all the way up to the Intel Core 2 Quad (Y) Q9xxxx family of processors.

The Q9300 or 9400 might be your best bet anything higher carries a high price tag. In most cases they cost more than the i5 2500K and sometimes as much as a i7 2600K because of their availability . Best place to look is Ebay or one of the forums for a good deal.
I still have the Q9300 that came with mine I was going to do a LGA 775 build for the heck of it but got side tracked by a custom water cooling loop in my current i5 2500k build. I could sell it on the cheap, don't need it.
