Dell inspiron 1720 keyboard does not work at all

My Dell Inspiron 1720 laptop keyboard does not work at all, but touchpad works. I can surf the net using the touchpad. However, I am unable to input data using keyboard.

Purchased new replacement keyboard, but I am still getting a series of 4 or 5 error beeps when I turn laptop.

Also, the blue warning lights with "9" next to power button on control panel stays on.

I believe the beeps and warning lights are on. It could be bad RAM.

Sorry, I dont see any beep codes posted by dell for your model. It looks like you will have to call them. Their tech support is based in india but their english is good and if you cant understand them they will transfer you to someone else.
