Hello,
I'm new to this site..After reading the discussions on topics from the many users,i feel my knowledge abt PC's is really low..But i have a simple question.I have a GPU of 512MB GeForce 8400GS n want to play the game GTA IV. but when i checked on d web, it said i needed min of 256MB GeForce7900 or better. i don't understand. though the video ram required is 256MB & I have abt 849 MB i can't play the game according to the site's recommendation..pls help me understand this better...

Okay, In case i need to go for an upgrade, what wd be the ideal configuration.. I wish to play gta 4, COD:MW series, Batman:Arkham Assylum but definitely NOT at their highest visual settings but at a decent level.
MY config is as below:
(All have been bought before world war II :) :) )

Intel Core 2 duo e4500;
Intel D945GCNL Mother Board;
2GB Ram
250 GB HDD;
Geforce 8400GS 512MB;
450W PSU.
as mentioned, I look towards enjoying a satisfactory level of gaming. not puttin too much pressure on the CPU

A 6770 would be a nice upgrade from a 8400GS

Although you might want to just save for a full upgrade later instead. Your CPU is a pretty weak dual core, and probably not overclockable with that motherboard. Also, that motherboard only supports a max of 2gb RAM which isn't very much. Your current system might be enough to power a 6770 though, and the PSU should probably handle it, but I'm guessing it's a no-name cheap OEM one.
