hye i am using a phenom x2 545 3.1ghz with 8gb of ram and powercolor ati 5670.............. now decided to get an upgrade.......... PSU is not an problem what i only want is good perfomance like my games shoulkd not be lagging .........i run most of the games on my ati 5670 however some games such as gta iv and bad company 2 they require to run at little low graphics.............the choices i have is nvidia
gts450 (ddr3 or ddr5) 2gb or nvidia gtx 460 1 gb
is 2gb of gts 450 any better then 5670 and can it be competent enough for high resolution and smoothgaming
any new suggestions are welcome

Some cards are not strong enough to handle the extra VRAM, so the GTS 450 with 1 GB of VRAM is the same as GTS 450 with 2 GB VRAM, HD 5670 512 MB is the same as HD 5670 1GB, maybe in most cases you get +1 frame.

As long as you're in 1080P or under, 1 GB is fine. IF you play above 1080P you'll need to get a decent CPU + GPU.

Yes GTS 450 is faster than 5670 but it can't handle games fine at high resolutions and is significantly slower than 460

you are getting gtx 460 at a very good price considering you live in india, me too live in india.
i bought my sapphire 6850 at a very nce bargain, about 7000, it was on sale as the retailer was having huge supplies and just want to get rid of them.
but you should go with the gtx 460 at that price, its just unbeatable

i beleive that after all advice i would go for gtx 460............however which one is better i have only two choices evga or palit.................which one of them is less noisy and electricity friendly ..........because i keep my pc running 24*7 .............and never going to overclock my cpu or graphic card so even an ordinary one with low noise would work

I doubt they will have much of a difference in power usage unless one has a factory overclock that bumps up the voltage. EVGA is generally considered one of the best manufacturers. As for noise you should look for the reviews of the specific card models you are looking at.
