Will a flashed/ unlocked graphics card cause a brand new motherboard not to pass post. Motherboard is bigbangfuzion. Beep code is one long two short, no display. Display is in power save mode. And, to follow up on the other threads. THis was just a motherboard upgrade. Have tried all other parts, and same beep code, all components i am using are tested, and are on the companies qvl. it just hit me today that my 6950s are unlocked, and maybe thats causing me to fail post
If it doesn't boot, he won't be able to go into the bios to disable/enable anything. He can try resetting the bios however to see if they changes anything.
What does the beep code mean? Look in your manual to see what "one long two short" beeps mean.

yeah, Ive sent the board in 2 times now, and bought all brand new components for it off the qvl, as well as all my components are compatible. Yet nothing works. Ive literally tried everything. I have tried all pcie ports w 6950s, 5850s, and a 3xxx series ati card. Ive tried 3 sets of ram all dual chanel ddr3 1 set ripjaw gskill 2x2 gb 1600, the next ripjaw gskill 2x4 gb 1866, and kingston 2x4 gb 1600. Same result, I went and bought a brnad new 850 wat psu from best buy the thermaltake black widow gaming addition, as well as i have my bfg 1000w psu. I have a lynnfield i7 860, working as we speak on my ga p55 ud3p board. All parts are for the same socket board and are compliant. Ive tried all dimm slotts w one piece of ram,m to both peices on all sets. Even tried to breadbord it incase of shorts. Ive changed vga,dvi and to hdmi, and changed monitors as well. Ive reset the cmos, and ive had cmos bat out for like 5 hours before a retry. First I sent it in to ewiz superbis were i bought is, and they said it posted and passed 3dmark. They sent a ss with nvidia card 4 gb of ram 1x4, on an i7 850, but in the ss it doesnt say the motherboard name. I spoke to msi, He (Henry) stated it was a different component each time, each time i swapped with a working compatible component, and had the same result. SO inevitably i bought new parts off the qvl, and same thing 1 long 2 short beeps indicating a ram or video display error. I cant get into bios or past my black screen to do anything. Ive sent the board back for a new one. 2nd return now on the board, this time straight to msi. So my ?, Msi is baffled, thw, and ocn is as well as noone has a fix for this. Thats why I was wondering if an unlocked card was cause these probs. on a new mobo. Thanks to all fopr the response and help, keep in mind before posting an aswer that ive literally treid and reconnected everything, and my pc is clean so no dust, damages etc. And, once again all main components are being used as we speak on my gigabyte board.
Its not an unlock issue unless your 5850 and 3xxx boards were also unlocked...
Seeing as the shop was able to get it running, I suspect you didn't have it hooked up right. Any chance you were missing something? Power to the video card? All the AUX plugs in? I'd also try it without any UPS or power bricks. Just plug right into the wall. You might even want to try a different power socket in a different room.

There is no possible way i had something not hooked correctly, as ive said ive tried this at least 30 times now, and Im not naive about things. But, I did check all my connections. Every time i reconnect my gigabyte board it works first try. I connect it the same way, 8 pin 24 pin card, ram, cpu and fan etc, thats basic knowledge, but Im past that point. I dont know what ups or power brick is, so I havent done that. The 5850 just has ccc limits unlocked on it. My board is arriving at MSI today so I will post there results to you guys for further instructions.
Update, MSI tested the board it ran fine. Henry from Msi is replacing the motherboard and updating the bios on the new board, and shipping it out tomorrow. It will arrive Friday! It is a cpu compatibility issue he says the motherboard didnt like my lynnfield i7 860. He said if this board doesnt work then he doesnt know. The cpu I have is supported on the qvl list, and is running on my ga p55 board as we speak. So I know its working. I also went out and bought a dremmel to mod my 902 case for bettter cable management. WIll post again soon.
New update, new motherboard sent swith updated bios.. Henry said that my old one worked and posted and passed benchmarks on 6950s and geforce 9800 with i7 860 and i7 870 corsair/ kingston ram... I got the board back hooked up everything off the QVL, and same thing. Cleared cmos for hours and had no power to it retried, reseated, swapped slots, etc same deal. So now its one of 3 thins henry says, CPU and mobo dont like each other, unlocked shaders are messing bios up, or my rams setting 1600 or my set at 1866 is too high a speed to 1st time boot on.... None of these sound promising as to my system is running as we speak on my ga p55 board. Anyone have an idea?
yeah, guys, this result was unresolved, i tried multiple threads, and even a tech (local) he had no clue. I sent nthe Fuzion back in and msi is giving me the 500.00 big bang marshal in its place, and im going with the 2700k. May wanna close the thread, thank you all for your help I am very greatfull to have you take time from your days to help me
