I built a new PC for a friend that has the following setup:
MSI KT7 Pro2A with T-Bird 1200 , 256 Ram
Elsa Gladiac 32 2MX
Pioneer DVD-115 16X EIDE
SBL Value
Windows ME

Using the DVD software that came with the card the movie locks up after a few minutes of play. The player locks up if I pause or do anthing while playing. The picture quality isgreat when it does play. The DMA setting is cheked and I see no conflicts.
Any ideas on a solution ? This is the first DVD drive I installed.

Thanks,
Sully

The many DVD installs I have run were without problems and it seems like your install went fine as well.

How does the drive operate with other disks, seems like it installed the O/S fine, right?

I would highly suspect the software, what was the name of it?

Try using a different DVD prog

What software do you recomend? The drive works perfect except for DVD playback.

System works great in games and, Internet with no problems except
DVD playback. It locks up after a few minutes.
What I tried so far:
· Loaded new bios 2.5
· Enabled DMA
· New Via driver 4.29
· Bushmaster 3.11 driver
· Switched DVD players (same problem)
· Moved SBL to each PCI slot (no luck)
· Used different video card still no luck.
· Tried Power DVD software and Cinamaster
Please can someone help me!!!!!!
I am sure someone has a similar setup. The MSI KT7 Pro2A is a highly rated motherboard in this forum. Did I make a mistake? I am counting on you people to help me out. I fell like a chump recommending this setup to a friend and can’t get it to work.

Thanks for reading.
