Home office/Gaming computer

Hello,
I am looking to build a computer that I will use for my business (sales rep) but in the evening will also double as a gaming computer for my son. The primary requirement for this will be able to handle Diablo 3. How does this combo from Newegg measure up?
Core i5/H67/4GB/1.5TB/Blu-ray SuperCombo
SLI/CrossFireX Ready and WiFi Feature Included

  1. you can probably put together a better combo by peace

Diablo 3 hardly needs the latest and greatest hardware but it does need a dedicated video card.

you can certainly save money by getting a cheaper mobo

you can also get the intel i5-2400, you won't notice the difference from the 2500 and save $20

while that raidmax PSU may be labeled as 630w, it will never hit that number without providing a spark show.

this corsair has plenty of real world power for solid gaming cards and you can't beat the price
    $45- $8 instant rebate - $20 MIR

most of those links come with PSU that are better used as paper weights then PSU. the last one linked does come with a rosewill green series but the FX series of CPUs fail to offer the performance of intels for equal dollars.

another Intel fan boy i see :pt1cable: the guy was asking for an office/gaming computer not the best gaming computer on earth man plus the fx 8100 is a great processor. what forum did you read this on "the FX series of CPU's fail to offer the performance of Intel for equal dollars" ?

Generally speaking the FX series CPUs do not perform as well as similarly priced Intel CPUs. There are some heavily threaded content creation applications where the FX is competitive with its Intel counterpart, but office and gaming applications aren't threaded enough to benefit from the FX's higher core count. The only way the FX CPUs can keep up with their Intel counterparts is through some pretty heavy overclocking, and that will only get them up to parity with a stock clocked Intel counterpart. If you have compare FX to overclockable Intel CPUs, FX won't be able to keep up without getting into some really impractical exotic cooling methods to maintain ludicrously high clockspeeds.

Pentium SB gets 2.4 more frames than the OCTO core FX in Diablo 3, Pentium G860 costs less than $100.

another kid who fails to see a members PC config to realize he has an AMD PC. :pfff: so who is the real fan boy?
the forum would be tom's list of best CPU for your dollar that comes out each month along with every other PC build out there and my own background of building PCs which is a lot longer then a noob kid like you has been on this planet.

i5-2400 vs the FX-8150 (the fx is losing most benchmarks including every game and office applications)

you also fail to understand what makes a good PSU so why should anyone listen to your CPU advice?

Guess what, PASSMARK IS SYNTHETIC! Their website is also fake! No one should use passmark as a benchmark comparison.
