X4 975 CPU: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...
970: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...

I need to buy a CPU quick right now, since 975 is missing L1 Cache does that make it better? or worse? Thanks.

OH and the title is horribly wrong.. I meant "X4 970 has L1 Cache, but the 975 does not. Does this make the 970 Better?"

Check the AMD website .

They are identical bits of silicon and have identical cache sizes .

So should I buy the 975 or not? I need to buy this ASAP man, I'm in a rush. I would buy the 970 but it's out of stock at the moment, so I MIGHT buy something else.

what motherboard do you have , what are you using it for?

and do you feel confident overclocking ? If you are then the 970 can be reset to higher speeds easily

I'd get the Phenom 955 and just overclock to 980 speeds on the stock cooler since all the phenom stock coolers are the same.

I went ahead and bought the 975 since the 955 AND the 970 are out of stock.

Maybe I can overclock the 975 to.. a 990? :D  Won't matter anyways to me, I'm a light gamer but my computer is too slow right now because of the CPU (AMD Athlon 64 X2 5000+)
