Gateway IP always blank

I run two networked Windows 7x64 machines (static IP's) and a Netgear router. When I start one of the machines, I find no internet connection because the Default Gateway IP address in the IPV4 properties is always blank after a restart. I will enter the routers IP address and everything is fine until I restart.

I am wondering why the routers IP will not remain in the default gateway entry blocks.

Just saw your post. I will follow your directions tonight. As for the question of not using DHCP, I have two Windows machine networked for Flight Simming. The main machine must have a static IP so that the Sim apps can talk to each other.

Depending on the DHCP server you are using you can use DHCP to assign the same IP to each machine - forever, again simplifying your OS configuration. My desktop has been running at .100 forever, and no other machine has taken that IP ever since.
