The real issue that comes up between the 2nd generation Intel® Core™ processors and the 3rd generation Intel Core processors comes down to one thing. The 3rd generation processors are better in every area except for overclocking in which they don't overclock as well as the 2nd generation Intel Core processors do. Due to improvements in the ICP and improved IGP performance the 3rd generation great at stock speeds. However with the new tri-gate manufacturing the 3rd generation processors are running hotter once they get higher voltage.
