Siemens SX56 / T-Mobile Pocket PC -- antenna boost ?

I've recently bought a T-Mobile Pocket PC, which is apparentely
identical to Siemens SX56 -- on the whole, I really like it !

The minuses:

1. No bluetooth

2. POOR reception in too many areas (including places where I really
NEED it to WORK.)

So, I can live without bluetooth until I'm ready to pony up some
serious dough for an IPAQ (or whatever comes next)

But is there any way to get better reception outta this puppy ?

There is no external antenna port (damn the morons who designed it)

I've seen hints that it might be possible to attach something onto or
around the stub antenna (??)

I've seen fairly low-cost signal repeaters for 800mhz, but anything
for 1900mhz ?

Does anyone have any feedback on the reception characteristics of the
IPAQ vs my Pocket PC ?
