Ok so my rig is
Intel core 2 duo e7300 @ 2.66,2.67 ghz
Mobo is GIGABYTE G31M S2L v1 (link below)
http://www.gigabyte.my/products/product-page.aspx?pid=3...

2gb ddr2 ram (planning to upgrade to 4 gb)
Win 7 ultimate 32 bit
Gonna get a 450 W psi
So can my mobo pciex16 run the hd 6670 or 5670 or equivalent pcie2.1x16 card?
Also will it be bottlenecked?
ANY HELP WILL BE APPRECIATED.

Yes it will.
The HD 6670 is about 6.6" or 168mm and will fit easily on your MB and not block any important items.

Also should I get the pcie 2.1 x16 version and will it work on pcie x16 slot.

The graphics card is compatible with your PCI-e slot.
No need to change motherboards.

I don't think there is any other version of the HD 6670 besides PCI-e 2.1.

So shall I get it since I'm a student and I'm totally screwed by parents if it doesn't work

Did you already choose a new PSU?

There is no reason not get the graphics card.
Nothing points to any problem with that card running in your system. Unless it might be the current PSU which you haven't mentioned.

What are you saying "it's average"?
May 9, 2012 12:04:53 PM

It's not highly rated since it's cheap but I'm sure it is decent to play

Are you hiding details of your current PSU for some reason?
Or the one you plan to get? Not all 450W PSUs can actually put out 450W.

Well the psu is a local brand. So I hope there will be no hiccups or faultiness in the working of the card in the pcie x16 slot huh?

Also any other dx11 card of nvidia geforce in the same price range of 100 usd performing well(cannot extend since pc is not good for cards above 6670)

If there's going to be any hiccup it's more likely to come from a budget PSU.
