I7 3770k vs i7 3820

I'm debating whether which one to get. The 3770k plus the motherboard will be cheaper but the 3820 will have a better upgrade path and better motherboard.

  1. Hello thesh0gun;

    Still no Ivy Bridge E showing up on the Intel Roadmap. How much money is Sandy Bridge E making for Intel?

    Are you looking at anything besides CFX/SLI? Like Tri-SLI or Quad CFX?
  2. Well I don't plan on SLI/CFX until the next upgrade, but I did read that the Ivy Bridge E will be delayed until the second half of 2013. http://www.techspot.com/news/47849-ivy-bridge-e-delayed-until-second-half-of-2013.html
  3. For gaming most upgrading is done with just GPU upgrades, keeping the CPU/MB.
    By the time that strategy won't hold up you'll probably be wanting to upgrade platforms anyway.
  4. If you live near a microcenter the 3820 cost the same or less then a 3770k
