Hello everyone, I have a Dell Studio XPS 8100 and I was looking to upgrade. I was looking at a 600W PSU and a HD 6950 GPU. The problem is, I have no idea if it will fit in the XPS 8100 case. I've measured the PSU and my GPU countless times and I just cant seem to figure it out. I'm pretty sure I have the length for a new GPU but its the Width and the Hieght that stumps me. Can anyone with an XPS 8100 shed some light on this? or anyone with enough computer knowledge have any suggestions? I want to be able to run games Maxed out because graphics mean alot to me.

Computer Specs: Windows 7 64 bit - i7 860 2.80GHz - 8.00 GB R.A.M. - HD 5770 1GB DDR5 - 1 TB Hard Drive - 1920x1080 Resolution Monitor.

Thank you for the help.

It looks to me like it is the same case as the new XPS 8300. I just ordered an 8300 and it will be getting here on Wednesday. I'd be happy to measure the case dimensions and see if my 570 fits when it gets here.

That being said it shows on the Dell sight that an 8300 has the following gpu options:

- Nvidia® GeForce® GTX560Ti with 1.25GB Memory
- Single AMD Radeon™ HD 6870

The 560TI is approximately 9" long and the 6870 is a little over 8.5". The 6950 is around 10" long. I would assume that a 1" difference would not be a big deal and a 6950 should fit in the case.

The HD 6950 will fit without any problem, did a google search and other guys reported HD 5770/5870 to be fit without any problem.
Regarding the PSU, a quality branded 500W is superior for your needs here's one
