can attach secondary monitor, then as soon as i click apply, it reverts back to not attached. have windows xp on desktop. have 2 svga plugs on back one is primary and works but cannot get anything on second svga
basic questions
are you sure the secondary monitor is functioning okay?
have you tried it as a primary
also are you sure the secondary VGA cable is okay?
make sure to look at the pins and check to see if they are bent or broken
try using a cable you are sure works
also are you using the Windows XP screen properties (right click Desktop)
or are you using you card's display manager?
can be tricky getting the two to work together
I usually like to use the Windows screen manager myself

yes i have tried all cables and monitors on my primary svga plug and everything works fine but cannot get a signal out of the secondary svga plug . and yes i am using desktop properties then settings then when i try to attach second monitor it highlights, then when i click ok or attached it reverts back to not ready. even when it is highlighted and i hit identify both monitors show number 1, when i try to make second monitor the primary to see if i could get a signal from the secondary svga plug it reverts back to not attached when i click ok or apply. thanks for your help this is driving me crazy
Check and see if the screen resolution is correct for the secondary monitor
possible Windows is setting the resolution or refresh rate too high
so make sure it is set for native resolution and 60HZ
okay the white one sounds like Displayport
doesnt really helps since not alot of monitors except brand new ones have DP
did you use the display manager in your video cards control panel?
yes i did. my other computers will attach the second monitor even when one is not hooked up. i am thinking it is something that will not let the monitor attach. thanks for your help
