Q6600 LGA775 780i Mobo heatsink

Hi.

I have a Q6600 LGA775 CPU with a XFX 780i Mobo.

I am looking for a new heatsink for overclocking. I currently have a thermalright passive heatsink wich is keeping my CPU cool @ 2.9GHz at around 42c idle. I want to overclock to 3.2 or 3.4ghz however it gets too hot above 2.9GHz, around 55c idle. So my question is what is the best heatsing for this setup?? I cannot afford watercooling and budget is around $120. I also have a Antec DF-10 Mid tower case so i need one that will fit. Please help.

  1. I'd head to newegg and search for socket 775 heatsinks .

The scythe Ninja is large and relatively quiet . But there are plenty of others
  2. One of the Antec DF-10 owners at NewEgg said the 159.5mm tall Corsair A70 cooler fit in his case.

Can you add a fan to your Thermalright .... HR-02?

  3. Do you still have the rest of the accessory pack that came with your cooler?
It should have a couple of clips to add a fan.

In this review they also used fans and show the accessory kit contents
