More about what kind
  1. your cpu may bottleneck the hd 6870 so get a step down to hd 6850.:)

    if no overclocking

    if overcloking then this

or for more better performance and good built this one

  2. nah i want something with more power like a 700w
  3. i have been told tht thsi card will not bottle neck with my cpu
  4. who tell you that it will bottleneck and why you need more power if 550w is more then enough
  5. i ask people on my another forum and they said tht this gpu will not bottleneck the cpu at 1280 by 1024 and tht will only bottleneck if the fps drips down below 30
  6. oh sorry i dont know your resolution yes in that resolution it will be fine but little bit bottleneck will be there.:)but in 1080p resolution it will bottleck.:)

you should go with only 550w which is more then enough for both your cpu+gpu overclock you dont need that much power.:)

in cpu dependent games like skyrim and others it will bottlenck

I can tell you that there is CPU bottleneck with 6870. I had a 4890 once, and moving from Piix2 550 to Piix4 955 saw significant FPS improvement over BFBC2 - yes, that was under 1280x1024.
  8. may1 get much bottlenecking with ur setup
  9. A 700W PSU is about the right size PSU for two HD 6870s.
Get a good one, and one with 4x PCI-e power connectors for the graphics cards.
  10. i only want one but i want 2 have euogh power if i want 2 upgrade

do you think that cpu will not bottleneck two hd 6870?
  12. A good, quality 600W PSU will handle any single graphics card easily.
  13. yes problary

He's upgrading the GPU. He might be planning on a CPU upgrade as well.
  15. i already have the cpu and i dont want upgrade it
  16. i want 2 know how the card will run with my cpu and what i would need for this card and my system
  17. Why did you want a 700W PSU?
  18. so then why dont you go with hd 6850 which is very good card it can handle games on your resolution with max setings with 2xaa or maybe 4xaa.:)
  19. For your system, a good 450W PSU would be plenty.
  20. well i was thinking of future profing my pc and i might get the hd 6850 or the hd 6870 and i will get the 550 w psu
  21. Future proofing? Like upgrading that dual core 2010 CPU?

As stated, "a good 450W PSU would be plenty"
AMD X3 and GTX460 with 380 watt psu

AMD X4 and 6850 with 380 watt psu

Even a good 430w would be plenty for your specs
  23. yeah when im ready 2 upgrade my system in like 2 years or so
  24. if i have a hd 6850 in my system how much will i need
  25. A good quality 450W PSU will have plenty of power for your system.
  26. would a 550w psu and its a Thermaltake TR2-550 NP Desktop PC Power Supply 550W ATX12V 2.0 W0102 good eough
  27. Not thrilled with the W0102. It's like a 5yr old model and never well regarded. More like an 'average' 500W PSU.

    Any other choices available?
