Cf6950's or 7970 upgrade?

Currently I'm running cf hd6950's 2gb each. I'm using an amd965@3.91ghz, I'm running an asus crosshair 3 mobo,with 16gb 1600 ram. My concern is that my cpu or mobo will bottleneck the new 7900 series sine they are pci-e 3.0, is this correct or should I upgrade?
