hi i have a question about tv vs monitors. i want to play diablo 3 on max settings and do audio production. i was wondring if i use a 70in sharp hd led tv would i get just as good graphics as i would with a monitor? i know monitors are made just for computers so they are better then tvs but i dont know if the newer tv that are made such as the sharp aqua 70in led tv is just as good as a monitor even tho they like 200% bigger lol.

Resolution is how many pixels are on the screens. The higher the resolution the more pixels, which means you will get a more clear pictures. The pixels will be smaller and the picture will become more detailed.

1080p is 1920x1080 or 2013600 pixels. Roughly 2 million pixels. 2560x1600 would be roughly 4 million pixels.

You know when people say 1080p is "full hd" well they havn't seen a real resolution. :p

I think Vizio's in general make good monitors, my 32' makes a great monitor.

Actually it is for all practical purposes "full hd". It doesn't matter how high the resolution is if there is no content available. How many 2560 X1600 movies are available?

The full HD thing was a joke. Also if higher resolutions became more mainstream and weren't niche, then there would be 2560x1600 media, but the whole comment was a joke anyway. Calling it "Full HD" is complete bullocks, however.

Regardless we are talking about gaming and gaming at 2560x1600 vs 1920x1080 is very different in my experience.

2560x1600 Monitors are very expensive, forewarning. You might want to ask in a different forum for audio help. You will probably want a DAC box like the Xonar Essence One, and all that jazz. That's not my expertise.

Agreed.

Also, a 2nd gtx 580 is in order at 2560x1600 I think. I run this res with 2 and I think with the 3930k you plan on getting it should do the job just nicely.

Oh, and 2560x1600 monitors are very expensive yes. I use a dell u3011 and I think they are $1400 now but there are some other brands that are around 1k I wouldn't mind hearing more feedback about.
