Hi, I was wondering if this PSU will work with a Core 2 Quad Q6600. The reason I ask is because it says "compatibe withCore i3, i5, and i7." http://www.amazon.com/Corsair-Enthusiast-Certified-Comp...

That PSU is compatible with either an ATX12V motherboard (4-pin power connector for CPU) or an EPS12V motherboard (8-pin power connector for CPU). I know of no motherboard that would accept your CPU and not be compatible with that PSU. To verify...what is your mobo? What are the rest of your system specs?

As far as I'm concerned that is marketing as much as it is a compatibility list.

Thats a confirm, manufacturers often spout the compatible with latest tech line to get people to buy it, like any other item may not work,
Check out my product for example,
Forks, new AND improved, compatible with mouths using the new 'Teeth' system

other manufactureres forks that don't mention it may not work with Teeth so you buy mine because I say they will work
Makes you want to buy my forks huh :p

"Compatible with Intel Core i3, i5, i7 and AMD platforms" is what Amazon.com's marketing put on that product description.

I don't see that claim anywhere in Corsair's own product info.

With the OCZ ModXStream Pro Series PSUs Amazon.com adds "compatible with Intel Sandy Bridge Core i3 i5 i7 and AMD Phenom".

As Rugger mentions you most often have compatibility niggles with the motherboard.
Usually nothing major but it's the main part you want to be compatible.
It's through the motherboard that the CPU gets its power.

Thank you for B.a. man, Glad to help
and this helps emphasise the importance of researching your parts for anyone who reads this, don't just believe what the vendor blurb says, check it out on a few vendor sites and read reviews :)
