contoller port #1 fried

My older ps2's first controlloer port has suddenly stopped working. Does not
recognize a controller is in there, etc.

Is this going to be worth trying to get fixed? Or do I just need a new ps2?

Check ebay, they are sometimes sold for 10-15$
