L1 Cache

Hi;

Is it possible (via a third party program) to disable L1 cache?

I have some older games I want to run on my P3 500 that will work properly (apparently) with L1 cache disabled.

I don't have the option via my BIOS settings...

Any info greatly received.

Why would old games only work if your L1 cache is disabled? L1 cache is not some new technology

The processor should work with L1 and/or L2 cache disabled.

Supermicro boards often have this option in the BIOS (I've seen it on socket 7 and slot 1 boards).

And yes, it's true some obscure software will only work with cache disabled.

If you cannot set it in your BIOS though, I'm afraid I can't help, sorry.
