Well this isnt my picture but, the cable all the way in the back. With the black and yellow wiring.

That came with my 6850 and I was wondering, what is it used for? It looks like its the power plug thing, but I mean the power supply should have that. What the hell is it used for? O_O

Sounds like an adapter. Molex to PCI-e or PCI-e 6 pin to 8 pin, something like that.

But if I had to guess based on context, its a dual molex to PCIe power adapter. It takes 2 HDD connectors from the PSU and combines it to form the 6 or 8 pin pcie connector that that card wants.

There may be an adapter with 2 molex adapters to a 6 or 8 pin PCIe GPU power cable. If you have a good PSU then it will come with at least one of these, but for older PSUs you would need the adapter (not that an older PSU would meet the power requirements anyways, but at least it gives newbies some hope lol).

Its a molex to PCI-e adapter for PSUs that have enough power but not enough PCI-e connectors to hook into the card.

yes thats definatly what it is

Molex (HDD POWER) to PCI-E Power 6pin

if your power supply already has a 6pin PCI-e connector to use then dont worry about the cable. just leave it in its box.
